The Malt House

At The Malt House, not only did we extend with a completely new wing, but we reworked the structure within the existing building by inserting a portal frame, enabling us to create an unusual mezzanine within this listed building - over doubling the amount of residential accommodation and transforming the space.  All works were designed to integrate contemporary touches within this c18 building, seamlessly merging original features and new structures.  The new wing was also made entirely with steel portal frames to allow for vaulted ceilings and further mezzanine spaces throughout and an elegant double-height reception hall.  Many of the original feature beams and fireplaces were exposed and coupled with the introduction of new solid oak staircases, bespoke oak doors, oak floors with underfloor heating, and inset lighting.
