Welcome to our home.
The Fitted Rigging House is a Grade 1 Scheduled Ancient Monument situated at the heart of Chatham's world-famous historic dockyard. Built in 1793 for The Royal Navy during 'The Age of Sail', the building was originally used as a rigging and storehouse. The ground floor of this magnificent Georgian building houses The Dockyard's library and collections as well as the Steam Steel and Submarine gallery. You will find us on the Second Floor in the North of the building. Look out for our giant pencil!
